Meet the Doctors

Dr. Saras Rustagi and his wife, Nitu, have created a family-inspired practice built on honesty, integrity, and lifelong relationships with their patients, team, and surrounding community.

Dr. Rustagi is a member of the American Optometric Association and the New Jersey State Optometric Association, and serves as the Director of Eye Care at Upper Montclair Eye Care & Wear.

He completed his undergraduate studies at Rutgers University before earning his Doctorate in Optometry from Inter American University of Puerto Rico School of Optometry, where he received the Dr. Angel F. Romero Award for academic excellence. He then completed a residency at the SUNY College of Optometry.

During his training at the New Jersey and New York Veterans Administration Hospitals, Dr. Rustagi worked closely with the UMDNJ Department of Ophthalmology, gaining extensive experience in diagnosing and treating ocular diseases.

Licensed to practice optometry in New Jersey since 2002, Dr. Rustagi provides comprehensive eye care for both children and adults. He has significant experience in fitting specialty contact lenses, including astigmatism and multifocal lenses.

His services include comprehensive eye exams, as well as the evaluation and management of glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, and cataracts. He also offers LASIK pre-screening and surgical co-management for LASIK and cataract procedures.
 

Dr. Richard Orsini earned his Doctor of Optometry degree from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry. He also holds a Bachelor’s degree in Biology with a minor in Chemistry from Caldwell University. A board-certified optometric physician, Dr. Orsini is an active member of both the American Optometric Association and the New Jersey Society of Optometric Physicians.

Throughout his training, Dr. Orsini gained invaluable hands-on experience through internships in ocular disease at the Philadelphia VA and pediatrics at the Eye Institute in Philadelphia. He also trained at the Cornea Associates of NJ, and has experience in complex contact lens fittings for patients with keratoconus. As a full-scope optometrist, Dr. Orsini provides comprehensive eye care, including routine eye exams, contact lens fittings, and the management of a variety of conditions such as glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, dry eye, and ocular emergencies.

When he’s not caring for his patients, Dr. Orsini enjoys snowboarding, relaxing at the beach, staying active through exercise, and cheering on the Yankees. Dr. Orsini’s addition to Eye Care and Wear means more appointment availability, more specialty contact lens options, and a continuation of the high standard of care that Dr. Rustagi has instilled in the practice.
